Cardi B said she lost the Hermès Birkin she named Esmeralda and thinks she left the purse behind at a hotel.

The rapper shared the news after a fan asked her to bring the bag back out. The request included an older clip of the brown leather purse.

“I fuvkin lost her ….its the only bag missing …I think I left her in a hotel and I’m so sad about it,” she wrote.

She had recently shown off a haul of new purses , including three Birkins she had bought over the span of a few weeks. Esmeralda isn’t the first purse to give her a headache.

In March 2025, she showed fans a mustard-yellow crocodile Birkin that her daughter had marked up . Cardi said that bag had cost her $60,000. She had first shown it off in October 2024 alongside two other new crocodile-skin bags.

Her hunt for rare pieces has taken her overseas before.

During a Vogue shoot at Paris Couture Week in July 2023, Cardi joked that she had really come to buy a Birkin. She said she spent two months looking for one she couldn’t find in the United States.

That collector’s eye became part of a business deal this year. On May 20, Fashionphile named Cardi its 2026 brand ambassador for the “Get Your Bag” campaign, which centered on shopping and reselling pre-owned luxury accessories.

She also curated a selection of her favorites for the platform, with pieces from Hermès, Chanel and Goyard.

Her picks included a crocodile Birkin 25 and a burgundy Chanel tote. The partnership brought her interest in rare finds and classics into the retailer’s shop-and-sell model.

Founder and president Sarah Davis said at the launch that Cardi understood the pieces’ value and could help broaden the audience for luxury resale.

Cardi pointed to its range of rare bags and classic styles, along with authenticity, as reasons the partnership made sense for her as a collector.

In her launch statement, Cardi summed up her taste: “I love a good bag, but I love a smart buy too.”
