Chuck Fest celebration kicks off Saturday

I t’s time to celebrate Louisiana’s vibrant culture as this year’s annual Chuck Fest gets underway Saturday in downtown Lake Charles.

What began as a celebration in recognition of Luna Bar & Grill’s 10th anniversary in 2014 has become one of the area’s largest free events, combining the local art and music scene with food, drinks, and all things Louisiana.

The celebration kicks off at noon at the Ryan Street stage as the Street Side Jazz Band gets crowds warmed up and ready to dance. At 1 p.m., Zydecane will perform at the Broad Street stage, and the rest of the day will feature performances at five stages scattered throughout the downtown district.

In addition to the musical entertainment, visitors are sure to enjoy the wide selection of vendors set up to offer art merchandise, beer tastings and tasty treats. The event is family-friendly and will have a Kids Zone so no one is left out of the fun.

The full lineup of the day’s performances can be found at visitlakecharles.com.
