Deschutes National Forest seeks winter volunteer rangers

Discover Your Northwest, the nonprofit partner of the Deschutes National Forest, will host a winter volunteer information night Oct. 27 for people interested in supporting conservation education and naturalist programs on the forest.
Organizers are recruiting education and interpretive volunteer rangers to represent the U.S. Forest Service at Mt. Bachelor during the winter season.
Volunteer opportunities include teaching conservation education programs and leading guided snowshoe tours. Volunteers receive uniforms and training and are asked to commit at least one day a week from mid-December through the end of March 2027.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Deschutes National Forest Headquarters, 63095 Deschutes Market Road, Bend.
