UOB Malaysia, Invest Selangor Facilitate Over RM3 Billion in Investments
UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor Berhad have facilitated investments exceeding RM3 billion into Selangor.
Four companies presented letters of intent (LOIs) for proposed investments in digital infrastructure, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and new energy during the opening ceremony of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026.
The LOIs are a direct outcome of a public-private collaboration that UOB Malaysia and Invest Selangor signed in November 2025.
The partnership aims to attract global investment into Selangor and help multinational companies enter the market. It also seeks to support the development of future-ready industries.
Galaxy DC Pte Ltd is an AI-focused hyperscale data centre infrastructure developer.
Shenghui Biotechnology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd plans to build a large-scale corn deep-processing and specialty ingredients facility in Selangor. The facility will produce starch-based products, sweeteners and other value-added applications.
Wuxi Weifu Environmental Catalysts Co Ltd manufactures automotive and industrial emission-control catalysts. Its products support the growth of Malaysia’s new energy vehicle sector.
XTC New Energy Materials (Xiamen) Co Ltd manufactures advanced battery materials for the electric vehicle and energy storage value chain.
Datuk Ng Wei Wei “These efforts reflect UOB’s commitment to connecting global investors with opportunities across ASEAN, supporting their entry into new markets and fostering long-term partnerships,”
said Datuk Ng Wei Wei, Chief Executive Officer, UOB Malaysia.
Ng said the bank expects the projects to support technology transfer, talent development and supply chain opportunities for local businesses, particularly SMEs.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Bin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, welcomed UOB Malaysia’s role in channelling investment into the state.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari “Our challenge today is not the lack of capital, but how capital is channelled. Businesses need access to financing to make the next great leap, maximise existing supply chains while building new, more resilient chains of supply,”
he said.
The collaboration supports Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2), the Second Selangor Plan, which aims to strengthen the state’s industrial competitiveness, attract quality investments and drive sustainable economic growth.
