Sandro Marcos joins Lakas-CMD
HOUSE Majority Leader Ilocos Norte Representative Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos has joined the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD).
According to some sources, Marcos took his oath as a member of the Lakas-CMD last October 12.
He left the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the political party headed by his father, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which among its member is Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.
Bigwigs from the Lakas-CMD include former Speaker and Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and former President now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The camp of the Majority Leader has not yet issued statement to confirm this and the reason behind his transfer.
Because of this, the Lakas-CMD remains the largest political party in the House of Representatives with at least 64 members.
Reportedly leading Sandro’s oath-taking was Lakas-CMD Vice President for Mindanao, Camiguin Rep. JJ Romualdo and witnessed by several party officials and members.
