Coach Kaddu pleased as NEC overcome Kigezi HomeBoyz

NEC FC head coach Badru Kaddu has praised his players for their performance after securing a 2-0 victory over Kigezi HomeBoyz in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.

NEC collected maximum points at Rwamwanja Stadium, with new signing Marvin Oshaba getting onto the scoresheet to help the Bugolobi-based side maintain their strong start to the campaign.

Kaddu admitted that the encounter was tricky despite facing a side at the bottom of the table but was pleased with how his players handled the challenge to secure the win.

“It has been a very tricky game. We were playing against a side that is at the bottom of the table. I thank the boys for the very good show, and we managed to score two goals and take home the three points,” Kaddu said after the match.

The NEC tactician insisted that the team’s mentality remains focused on winning every game as they pursue their objectives this season.

“Our mentality has always been the same. We have to win against everyone who comes our way so that we achieve our objective,” he added.

Kaddu was particularly pleased with Oshaba’s contribution, praising the forward’s quality and technique after he marked his arrival at the club with a goal.

The coach believes the recruit has the ability to offer even more as he settles into the team, noting that he could have scored more on the day.

“I am happy with our new signing Marvin Oshaba for getting onto the scoresheet. That is the purpose of a good player with quality and technique. He would have scored more, but now that he has gotten this result, we expect him to do even better,” Kaddu stated.

The victory leaves NEC with 14 points from six matches, level with Uganda Premier League leaders SC Villa as the early-season race at the top continues to take shape.

NEC will next be in action on Wednesday, October 21, when they travel to face BUL, hoping to maintain their momentum and keep pace with the league leaders.
