BoomBozz is giving away free pizza for its 28th birthday

BoomBozz is celebrating its 28th birthday with free pizza, cheap beer, and a contest that could keep one lucky customer eating slices for the next year.
The Louisville-born pizza chain will mark the anniversary Tuesday, Oct. 20, with specials at participating area locations and the grand reopening of its renovated Highlands restaurant at 1448 Bardstown Road .
At the Highlands location, dine-in customers can get a free small one-topping pizza from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. From 3 p.m. until close, the restaurant will offer medium Famous Pizza Pies for $10. The deal is limited to one pizza per table or check.
BoomBozz is also turning its 28th anniversary into a timing game. Dine-in customers at participating locations will get one chance to start and stop a digital timer. Anyone who lands on exactly 28.00 seconds will win one small one-topping pizza a week for 52 weeks. Each participating restaurant will award one grand prize.
Near misses also come with prizes. Customers who stop the clock at 27.99 seconds will receive a $100 gift card, while times of 27.98 and 27.97 seconds are worth $50 and $25, respectively.
Participating locations will also offer $2 Boom Brew beers throughout the day. The $10 pizza special and timing contest will be available during regular business hours outside the Highlands location.
The anniversary coincides with the reopening of the Highlands BoomBozz following renovations to its dining room, bar, and patio.
BoomBozz got its start in 1998 as a 14-seat pizza restaurant in St. Matthews and has since expanded into a regional chain known for its specialty pizzas and sports-bar atmosphere.
