2027: We Will Do Whatever It Takes To Save Nigerians Because Life Is Like Hell Under Tinubu — Rabiu Kwankwaso

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said the party will consider reintroducing fuel subsidy and other measures to reduce petrol prices if elected in 2027.

Kwankwaso disclosed this on Thursday while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today , where he described the cost of energy in Nigeria as too high and said urgent steps were needed to ease the burden on citizens.

He said the NDC was prepared to take whatever measures were necessary to bring down petrol prices, including reconsidering fuel subsidy.

“Our collective position now is that the price of energy in this country is too high; we are going to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the price of fuel in this country is taken back, including doing whatever we can, including the subsidy,” Kwankwaso said.

The former Kano State governor also said voters would assess political parties and candidates based on their performance in office rather than promises made during election campaigns.

“If you are coming for the first time, you can tell people what you intend to do, but after four years, it’s not what you say, it’s what you have done during the opportunity that you had that will work for you or against you,” he said.

Kwankwaso’s remarks come ahead of the 2027 presidential election, as the NDC outlines its proposed approach to addressing the rising cost of living and energy prices.
