Fire Convocation Begins in Kafanchan, Seeks to Shape Middle Belt’s Future
By Femi Oyelola, Kaduna
The first-ever Fire Convocation has commenced in Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna, bringing together Christians from across the Middle Belt and minority Christian communities in Northern Nigeria for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and discussions on the region’s future.
The gathering, which began at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, is being organised under the spiritual leadership of Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, Vision Pioneer of Throneroom Trust Ministry. It is scheduled to conclude on Saturday morning.
According to a press statement issued by Apostle Kure in Kafanchan on Thursday, the convocation is expected to amplify the voices of the Middle Belt and encourage a renewed commitment to shaping the region’s future through unity, constructive engagement, and a shared spiritual vision.
A major feature of the event is a series of breakout sessions designed to examine the challenges confronting the region and help develop a shared agenda for its future.
The discussions are expected to cover insecurity, displacement, religious freedom, spiritual deliverance and revival, community development, youth empowerment, political participation, and inclusive governance.
The programme also features a bonfire night, providing participants with an opportunity for fellowship, prayer, and spiritual reflection.
Apostle Kure said the convocation seeks to go beyond prayer and fellowship by setting the tone for meaningful conversations and collective action on the future of the Middle Belt.
He noted that bringing together Christians from across the region and minority Christian communities in Northern Nigeria would provide an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, identify shared priorities, and promote a common vision that transcends ethnic, denominational, and political differences.
The statement noted that insecurity, justice, inclusion, and sustainable development remain central to the aspirations of communities across the region.
The Fire Convocation will also precede the International Prophecy Conference, scheduled to hold from October 26 to 30, 2026, at Throneroom Camp. The conference is expected to provide another platform for spiritual engagement, prophetic ministry, and reflection on God’s purpose for individuals, communities, and the region.
The statement added that the broader objective of the gatherings is to translate spiritual renewal into purposeful engagement, responsible leadership, and sustained efforts to build a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous Middle Belt.
