Kwankwaso Predicts Victory for Tinubu in 2027

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, on Thursday predicted an overwhelming electoral victory for President Bola Tinubu in 2027, citing what he described as growing support for the President across party lines.

Kwankwaso, Director of Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, said the growing participation of politicians from different political backgrounds signalled an expanding coalition behind Tinubu’s re-election bid.

He expressed optimism that the inclusion of prominent political figures associated with parties such as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party would strengthen the President’s chances of securing a decisive victory.

“To me, the inauguration of the Campaign Council is like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office. What else remains when the same Nigerians we are supposed to campaign for have collectively come forward in unison for one person—Tinubu?” Kwankwaso asked.

He argued that the participation of politicians from different political backgrounds reflected growing acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and economic reform agenda.

The Director of Finance Hadejia Jammaare River Basin Development Authority expressed confidence that the emerging coalition would translate into substantial electoral gains for the President.

Kwankwaso cited the remarks of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and other political figures, arguing that their assessment of the administration’s economic policies demonstrated an appreciation of the challenges confronting Nigeria and the realities of the global economy.

“It has never happened in Nigeria’s political history that one man could attract nearly all opposition parties not only opposition politicians, but people who have never agreed to sit together yet, because of Tinubu, they have accepted to come on board and pursue a common goal,” he said.

The Kano-born politician maintained that the 2027 election should not be viewed merely as a contest for Tinubu’s political survival but as a defining moment for Nigeria’s economic future, arguing that the President deserved the opportunity to consolidate his policies despite the difficulties associated with ongoing reforms.

Turning to Kano, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the political alignment emerging at the national level would be replicated in the state, with leading political figures working together to support Tinubu’s re-election and a second term for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.
