Three Thai nationals arrested with Rs. 51 million worth of hashish

Three Thai nationals have been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with hashish valued at Rs. 51 million, police said.

The suspects, two aged 22 and one aged 33, arrived from Bangkok on Thai Airways flight TG-307 at around 12.30 a.m. today (15).

Police Narcotics Bureau officers at the airport discovered 5.096 kilogrammes of hashish concealed inside containers of cosmetic products in the suspects’ three pieces of luggage.

The suspects and the seized drugs are scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today for further legal proceedings.

The Airport Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations.
