Letter: ‘No’ to dictators

Dear editor,

The voice on the phone in the Oval Office was President Donald Trump demanding Georgia’s Secretary of State “find” (steal) 11,780 votes. Brad Raffensperger refused. Trump lost.

Jan. 6, 2021, the President of the United States ordered terrorists to storm the Capital, stopping certification. Vice President Mike Pence refused. Trump lost again.

Democracy was saved.

Not for long.

Trump yelling, “Stop the steal,” “free and fair election,” the King of voter fraud was born.

Surrounded by GOP deniers, two-faced GOP Congress, billionaires, foreign “interest,” picking the “worst of the worst” for cabinet jobs, Trump’s “unpresidented” second term began.

Corruption encouraged.

The White House mirrors Trump’s damage: Deny allies, embrace foes, American is not a trustworthy partner. Trump’s disastrous War on Iran gave Iran global power and prestige and diminished ours.

Democrats winning House and Senate in November will save Trump. They will end the war, saving his ego.

Trump is the ballot. Voting power in America is still real. Politicians fear it. Trump lives it.

“Yes” to democracy. “No” to dictators.
