Rains to prevail across much of PH on Friday

By Cristina Arayata

MANILA – Three weather systems will bring rains to parts of the country on Friday, the weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Aurora, and Quezon due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the easterlies.

Moderate to heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas, PAGASA warned.

Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience isolated light rains due to the northeasterly windflow, while the rest of the country may have isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies.

Moderate winds and moderate seas are expected over extreme Northern Luzon. Elsewhere, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail, PAGASA said. (PNA)
