Reform councillors resign live after extreme racist and sexist comments caught on camera

There has been widespread outrage after a ITV investigation exposed Reform councillors expressing racist and sexist comments. Alan Feeney, who holds the Shard End seat in Birmingham and Castle Bromwich in Solihull, was filmed saying his ward had been "infested" with Asians, labelling them "absolute parasites," while on the election trail earlier this year. He was recorded saying: "I'd be saying no more than one per cent of British population can be non-white" and spoke about the "nuclear option" whilst dealing with Asians. Feeney was appointed deputy mayor of Solihull but announced that he had left Reform “for personal reasons” on Monday, October 12. Hours later, a second Castle Bromwich councillor Chris Whelan, who also featured in the expose, announced his resignation from Reform UK. ITV News placed undercover with Reform UK candidates and councillors across England and Wales running up to the elections in May and four by-election campaigns this year and last. We are running a live blog on the explosive investigation and will be providing updates. If you live in a ward led by Feeney and want to express an opinion, email: jasbir.authi@reachplc.com
