Uptown burger joint closing after 16 years
A bar and burger joint that opened in 2010 in Denver’s Uptown restaurant area is calling it quits.
Park & Co, which grew out of Colorado restaurateur Jean-Philippe Failyau’s success with his Park Burger mini-chain, will serve its last burgers and beers on Sunday, Oct. 19, according to the Gastamo Group, which owns it.
The restaurant, at 439 E. 17th Ave., eventually became part of the basis for the group, which also owns the multi-location restaurants Homegrown Tap & Dough, Perdida and Lady Nomada. All three have expanded into the outskirts of the metro area with large new stores in places like Westminster, Parker and Central Park. At the same time, Gastamo recently closed one of its inner-city spots, a Park Burger on West 32nd Avenue. Two other Park Burgers remain, the original in Platt Park and one in Hilltop.
“Since opening in 2010, Park & Co has been Uptown’s spot for happy hour, game day, a great cocktail and a late-night bite, and we’re grateful to everyone who made it part of their routine,” Gastamo Group said in a statement.
“To our team, our regulars and this neighborhood: thank you. We’d love to see you for one more round before we close the doors on the 19th, and we invite you to dine with us at our other Gastamo restaurants across Denver.”
