Adult tickets cost R400 per person, while additional children are charged R210 each.

Families can book tickets through the official Robben Island Museum website .

A heritage experience for families

Robben Island is an important part of South Africa’s history, having served as a prison for political prisoners during apartheid. Among those imprisoned there was Nelson Mandela, who spent 18 years on the island.

The museum’s NextGen Heritage Free Pass aims to encourage children to engage with the country’s history while learning about the people and events that shaped its journey to democracy.

Visitors can explore the island’s historic sites and learn about its role in the struggle for freedom, while also experiencing its natural surroundings.

Families interested in taking advantage of the offer should book online before the promotion ends on October 31, 2026.
