New Victorian Small Business Commissioner appointed

The Victorian Government has announced the appointment of Greg Jennings as the new Victorian Small Business Commissioner.

Prior to his appointment, Mr Jennings ( pictured ) was the Chief Engagement Officer at Beyond Blue, where he led initiatives to promote workplace wellbeing, support small business owners and collaborate across government, community and industry.

Mr Jennings was also previously a Director at the Fair Work Ombudsman.

“I am honoured to be appointed as Victoria’s Small Business Commissioner. Small business owners show extraordinary courage, resilience and determination every day,” said Mr Jennings.

“I’m excited to take on this role, ensure their voices are heard, and lead the Victorian Small Business Commission in delivering the support, advocacy and dispute resolution services that enable small businesses to thrive.”

Mr Jennings replaces Interim Commissioner Tim Symons, who took on the role in March following Lynda McAlary-Smith’s appointment as Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman.

Minister for Small and Family Business, Natalie Suleyman, welcomed Mr Jennings to the role for a three-year term.

“The Victorian Small Business Commission plays an important role in helping small businesses avoid and resolve disputes and overcome challenges, so I am pleased to welcome Mr Jennings to lead this important work,” said Minister Suleyman.

“I would like to thank Tim Symons for his service as Interim Commissioner and for his support and advocacy for Victorian small businesses.”
