Coronation Street fans think there's something missing as Sarah Platt goes on trial for murder

Coronation Street fans have shared how they think something - or should we say some people - are missing as Sarah Platt was seen going on trial for the murder of Theo Silverton. Those who follow the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford , know that Sarah has already been behind bars for months, after she was revealed to have been the one who killed the dastardly builder, who had been abusing her best friend, and his husband, Todd Grimshaw. But Sarah's eventual confession came weeks after the evil builder's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mum Lisa's wedding to Carla Connor, which took place on April 23, and it hasn't helped her case, where she is pleading self-defence. The reveal came after a murder investigation was already underway, with Corrie confirming Theo's husband, Todd, as a suspect, along with his loved ones, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, as well as Theo's friend-turned enemy, Gary, and Theo's ex-wife, Danielle Silverton. Following the flashback scenes, as Todd struggled in the aftermath of his abusive husband's murder, Sarah ended up confessing the truth of her crime to her best friend, while her partner, DC Kit Green, found out when she admitted to killing Theo as he was trying to pop the question. Despite Kit's attempts to help cover up her crime, Sarah was arrested on suspicion of killing Theo. She was later charged as the evidence stacked against her, and Sarah ended up admitting to the murder, telling DS Lisa Connor-Swain it was in self-defence. While new spoilers for next week's Corrie have confirmed that Sarah will finally learn her fate in upcoming episodes, it was during Wednesday's (October 14), the trial was seen getting underway, as Sarah's family, Bethany, David and Shona Platt, and her former husband Adam Barlow, all headed to court, and listened as Sarah appeared in the dock, as the prosecution barrister told the jury that Sarah had attacked Theo in support of her best friend, Todd Grimshaw, after learning of his abuse at the hands of his husband, Theo. Lisa and Theo's ex-wife, Danielle, was seen giving their evidence, which didn't go in Sarah's favour. Later, in the Rovers, David confronted Lisa for not helping Sarah, accusing her of 'sabotaging' her defence. He then turned on Sarah's ex, Kit, who responded by saying he wanted nothing to do with the Platt family anymore. But Corrie fans couldn't help but point out who was missing during such a major event. @niallhoran said: "You’d imagine Gail and Audrey would be back for court #corrie." @Audz32129841 echoed: "You'd think Sarah being in court for a murder trial Nick,Gail and Audrey would have turned up #Corrie." @Samanth22356123 commented: "Gail and Audrey living their best life in France giving zero f**ks about Sarah #Corrie." @J_WBerry added: "Am I the only one who thought David said 'Gail' & was expecting Helen Worth to be the one walking round the corner for a moment? Had to turn on subtitles to find it was 'Ey up'. But it really is unbelievable neither Gail or Audrey would show up to Sarah's murder trial. #Corrie."
