NPA DENIES ZUMA ARREST WARRANT CLAIMS

Staff Writer / Thurs, 15 October 2026

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has denied claims that arrest warrants have been issued against Jacinta MaNgobese Zuma and Xolani Zuma.

In a media statement issued on Thursday, 15 October, NPA national spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago dismissed allegations made in a statement by the March and March Movement suggesting that warrants had been issued against the pair.

Kganyago said no arrest warrants had been issued and stressed that the NPA operated independently of political parties and public office-bearers.

“The NPA wishes to categorically deny that any warrant of arrest was issued,” said Kganyago.

He said prosecutorial decisions were based on the Constitution, legislation and evidence, rather than instructions from political parties or individuals holding public office.

“As a general principle, the NPA does not normally make comments on matters of operations such as possible arrests and investigations before the law enforcement process involved is completed,” he said.

Kganyago added that details of any charges and the reasons for prosecution would become known through the normal judicial process once a matter was enrolled in court.

He urged individuals and organisations to refrain from making unsubstantiated allegations that could misrepresent or undermine the criminal justice system.

The NPA reiterated its commitment to carrying out its duties independently and impartially, saying it remained dedicated to discharging its functions “without fear, favour or prejudice”.
