The Port Gibson Titans finished their fall youth football season as the 2026 Jackson Freedom League champions in two age divisions.

The Titans’ B- and C-teams, for 9-10 and 5-8-year-olds, respectively, as well as the program’s cheer squad, all won the league titles in their divisions. The football team is coached by David Jones Sr. and also has had several players selected to participate in the Battle of Mississippi and DI all-star games in November.

The Titans’ cheer team is coached by Deloris Frye-Curtis.

The Titans will also play in the 10th annual Turkey Bowl tournament Nov. 28-29 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Turkey Bowl is a regional tournament that will feature some of the top youth football programs in the South.

“This victory belongs to the kids, the parents and the entire community,” Jones said. “Winning the Freedom Bowl uncontested is a testament to the hard work started in the offseason. We challenged these athletes to be their best and they answered the call.”
